Confidentiality is an important part of the counselling relationship.
Ease Talk Therapy is committed to providing a respectful environment where clients can discuss their concerns with appropriate privacy.
What Does Confidentiality Mean?
Information you share during counselling is treated as confidential and is not ordinarily disclosed to other people without appropriate permission.
When Confidentiality May Not Apply
There may be circumstances where information must or may be disclosed in accordance with applicable law, professional requirements or safeguarding responsibilities.
These may include situations involving:
- Serious risk of harm to yourself
- Serious risk of harm to another person
- Safeguarding concerns
- A legal requirement to disclose information
- Other circumstances permitted or required by applicable law
Where appropriate and legally possible, we will discuss significant disclosures with the client.
Online Counselling
Clients using online counselling should choose a private location and take reasonable steps to protect their own privacy.
Ease Talk Therapy cannot guarantee privacy if a client uses an insecure device, public network or shared environment.

If you have questions about confidentiality before beginning counselling, please discuss them with your counsellor.
